It's been a busy day over the pond with a number of competing common darter males battling it out for control of the breeding area.  One couple have successfully managed to get together and ovipost despite all the overflying by the others. So hopefully there will be plenty more common darters nexts year.  In the meantime today's shot is of a male in flight.
