Maitland Sand dunes

Hi all my blip buddies, I'm back after two wonderful weeks of my family here. What a special time it was, and now that they are gone I have such a feeling of sadness, but lots of good memories. Canada is just so far away. My two granddaughters are beautiful and we had so much fun. Their best outings were on the beach here looking for shells and treasures!
This a photo from yesterday when I took hubby for a drive to this beautiful beach. He hasn't been very well, but loved having the family here. The weather today (Wednesday) is terrible with, once again strong winds and icy cold. On Friday last week four electric transformers fell over in the strong wind, leaving huge parts of the city without power. Once again, lack of maintenance led to the rusty structures crumpling!  We are so fortunate to have solar power so are not affected. The temporary repairs will take up to two week!! Some areas have had power restored for a couple of hours a day. I feel so sorry for small businesses. many of which have had to close down. My freezers are packed with my sisters' and neighbours' frozen goods. Hopefully the weather will improve soon and the repairs can continue.
I will try and back blip at some stage, but it's good to be back.
