Blackwell and William de Morgan ....
We pottered up to Bowness today to see the gorgeous Blackwell House again. Not been for quite a while and Storm Lilian didn't deter us. As well as a stunning Arts and Crafts house - built for a brewer from Manchester - it's current exhibition was SUCH a treat!
This slightly bonkers peacock plate just made us smile. The tiles are stunning as are many of the other chargers and vases.
After that we continued north to Rheged. I'd not been before but wanted to see the Jackie Morris exhibition, having thoroughly enjoyed her illustrations for The Lost Spells with Robert Macfarlane. What a wonderful artist ... it was a joy. Shame I don't have any 'extras' left. Realise I frittered them a bit ... won't make that mistake next year!
