The wee side gate was open, but I didn't have much time to investigate on my walk over from the hotel. I hadn't been keeping up with the goings-on in Ayr town centre and hadn't realised they'd finally started hacking the old Station Hotel down, with only a few isolated bits of it still visible under the containment shrouds.
