Apollo
A very laid back day for most of us today. A and G’s grandson G arrived from the UK very late last night, after a long journey by plane, train, and bus, so had a long lie-in this morning while the rest of us had a leisurely breakfast and read. After lunch, G, A and G went for a walk up to the same mirador we visited on Sunday, while I chose to wander down the path by the river to look for butterflies. There were fewer species than I’ve seen here before, but I did come across this Apollo gorging on thistle. It was still on the same flower when I returned half an hour later. Extra: the lone, tattered fritillary I saw (there are usually loads).
Meanwhile, S set off at 8 am for an 18 km, 1000 m of climbing walk. It took him eight hours and he enjoyed it, but he is knackered now. Time to chill with apéros before dinner.
