On a Country Road
I cooked homemade country link sausage for breakfast. My cousin gave them to me at Christmas. They were delish. The crew enjoyed their quiche so everyone was ready to face the day ahead. Hubby and our BIL finished the first half of the deck. It looks so much better. They could have completed more but we finally got a thunderstorm with much needed rain. Hopefully the next shower will last longer and fall softer. We have branches and leaves everywhere. After lunch, my sister and I visited the neighbor on her front porch so we didn’t spread our germs. This was the scene as we headed to her house. The fawn must have needed a rest in the shade due to the excessive heat today. We think most of their water sources are dry. As we got close enough for a clear photo, it got up and sprinted into the forest. You can see how dry it has been. Leaves are turning yellow and falling way too soon. When we pulled into their driveway, the neighbor’s son came to meet us and gave me a sturdy bluebird house. We’ll have to get that up when we get home. Edna told us about a large black bear that visits their property in the evenings. Thankfully, she sits by her front door so she can get inside quickly. As we were leaving, we could hear thunder. We got home and inside right before the sky opened. If it clears up for the evening, we may go to town to enjoy a “Chicago” tribute band. Otherwise, we will just have a quiet evening. I tried getting to your journals last night but connectivity was spotty. Hope your evening plans include some fun activities. Stay safe. Thanks for visiting.
