Treat time

An unexpected visit from Miss Beewatcher today, so we took ourselves off to the local garden centre, where I enjoyed my loaded vegetarian omelette.
But on the way home we passed a tremendous  kerfuffle of police and ambulances and loads of people just milling around.
A couple of hours later the internet provided the reason - a stabbing, in broad daylight. 
That’s the third one in our town in less than a fortnight.
WHY ?
