Teal & Orange

Work today was long and busy, and I got away well after six in the evening. I went to the pharmacy and ran some errands in town, then Gubs phoned the Dad’s Taxi line, needing a ride from Sturry—luckily, not far away. Considerably further afield, Monty sent word of his travels, and he is now exploring Prague. Hunting for a daily blip, I noticed these attractive flowers, China Asters,  blooming in the kitchen and took a few shots.

China asters, scientifically known as Callistephus chinensis, are vibrant annual flowers belonging to the Asteraceae family. Native to China and Korea, these plants are celebrated for their striking blooms, which range in colour from white and pink to blue, purple, and red. They typically grow between 8 to 36 inches tall and thrive in full sun to partial shade, preferring rich, well-draining soils. China asters bloom from summer through fall, making them a popular choice for gardens as they provide colour when many other plants begin to fade. They are relatively low-maintenance and can attract pollinators like bees, enhancing the biodiversity of any garden space.
