Wednesday: Drone Squadron

Some events I attend are decidedly quirky.  Today was a case in point.

I went up to Belize City to attend the inauguration of the Coast Guard’s new drone squadron.  Squadron, to me, would imply, well, more than one……..not in this case. They are evidently very proud of their single drone.

We had a fairly lengthy ceremony, with national anthems, prayers and speeches. This was followed by a drone demonstration which, in essence, was just a buzzing noise and us trying to spot it on the horizon……..a prize for anyone who spots it in this picture.

And, for the record, you really come away with a cricked neck after watching drones being inaugurated.
