The blooming cistern went on the blink again but S found a YouTube video for our particular model and I’ve removed some of its innards, followed the instructions and it seems to be running OK. Unfortunately I couldn’t refit the key bit (the video said that was ‘tricky’) but that may have been due to a beer excess so will watch the video again tomorrow and hope for an added dash of dexterity.
The beers were consumed at Alpenblick where A&C took us for lunch and later at BBQ Bob’s where the beergarden was full and the conversation flowed (around me).
