Growlers and Bergy Bits

Growlers are small chunks of ice floating in the water (about the size of a grand piano), and Bergy Bits are bigger, but not as big as a fully grown Iceberg.

There are lots of Growlers and Bergy Bits floating around us this morning as we lie at anchor off the shore of Uummannaq -- our last stop in Greenland.  It's a very overcast, gray day with clouds collapsed over the tops of the surrounding hills, and an anemic sun making a half-hearted effort to shine through the gloom.  I  thought this image perfectly illustrates the current conditions!

We are only here until noon, and then we set off across the sea to Pond Inlet in Canada.  A sea day tomorrow!
