Speckled Woods

I’ve seen few butterflies this summer, but this morning in Shell Bay wood the sunshine seemed to have brought out lots of speckled woods. I only had my phone with me, but they were pretty chilled about me getting up close. Just after I took this shot another one actually landed on my phone in my hand, then I turned around and one landed on Geordie’s neck. So lovely to see. In a small area there were five of them.
Gardening this afternoon. I tidied and weeded the front garden, then tackled the pots on the patio, collected the nasturtium seeds, and cut back some of the herbaceous plants that had finished flowering. The sun shone throughout.
