As I was cutting back the Rosebay Willowherb on the river bank I noticed this Elephant Hawk Moth caterpillar, I haven't disturbed it so hopefully it will overwinter and emerge next spring as a beautiful moth.     Apparently it gets it's name due to it looking like an Elephants trunk.
Another beautiful late summers day, 23 degrees so much more comfortable for working in the garden.
