I had prepared food for most of the weekend, but we still needed a few items, so we did some shopping. On the way back, we walked down Union Street towards Western Gardens. An impressive lineup of scooters was displayed in front of the water. They were on the Island for the rally. The scooter parade in Ryde is tomorrow. The notice board was covered with stickers from various scooter clubs in attendance, along with a few Northern Soul stickers. Northern Soul is the music of the rally and can be heard playing in venues around town.

The weather could have been better. It started to rain while we were out, and we temporarily took shelter at the bus station. We walked back to the flat and ate the lunch I had prepared. Afterwards, we noticed clear skies and decided to walk along the coast. However, after about five minutes, a torrential downpour began. We decided to complete a mini circuit of the lake despite the rain. By the time we reached the far end, the rain had eased, so we took a chance and continued our walk, eventually ending up in Seaview. There was some sort of regatta taking place, which we watched as we did a loop of Seaview before heading back to Ryde.

After about an hour, we headed out to The Star, where there was an evening of live music. We intended to return for dinner but were enjoying the music, red wine, and beer too much, so we stayed until the end.

Perhaps feeling a bit too jolly on the way back, we ordered an enormous chicken kebab. Once we got it home, we realised it was far too much, and we didn’t finish it. I ended up falling asleep on the sofa.
