Crossing

Our train to Portsmouth Harbour left Waterloo this morning at 11 am. I wanted breakfast, so I bought a sandwich from Costa Coffee before boarding. It wasn’t very nice—I should have stuck with something from Pret.

We arrived just after 1 pm. Unusually, we decided to skip the next ferry and spend some time at Gunwharf Quays. I ended up buying some clothes from the M&S outlet shop, which made up for my unsuccessful shopping trip last Wednesday. However, I couldn't find the Sketchers I wanted, as their outlet store didn’t have what I was looking for. Maybe next time.

As we didn’t have much luggage, we crossed the Solent on Wight Rider’s sundeck. It was a beautiful crossing, with lots of other boats out on the water. After landing and making it to the flat, we decided the weather was too nice to stay inside and headed straight out again to the Harbour House, which has a view of the marina and the water across to the mainland.

After a few hours in the sunshine, with some shandies, we went shopping at the Co-op and returned to make dinner. I made a vegetarian chilli, which produced more food than I had expected. It will also do for tomorrow.
