Today's the day ........................ to be home alone

Who knew that butterflies liked to feed on windfall apples?  There were several of these Red Admirals this morning, feasting on the apples that were lying on the ground.

I had plenty of time today, to do exactly what I felt like - because I had the place all to myself.  Will had left early to drive up to Edinburgh for a meeting.  Tim and Dominic had gone off with a packed lunch, to climb 'Criffel' - a hill to the south west of here.

And as I write this, I can tell you that everyone has now returned safe and sound - and happily managed to achieve everything they set out to do ........................ !
