Late Summer

It’s been another beautiful warm and sunny day but there’s a definite sense of the changing season. Grass which was green in early summer is now dry and yellow, and the briar roses which bore flowers in June have shiny red hips on them. At the allotment the cooler nights are causing the cucumber and French bean plants to begin to die off. I’d be happy for summer to keep rolling on and on.
