Lin’s Mill Aqueduct
Nearing the end of our holiday, we headed south again today and set up camp under the flight path for aircraft taking off from Edinburgh Airport. Although there is some noise from departing planes, it’s also a bit of a novelty seeing them at close quarters.
We took Bertie for an enjoyable walk which started alongside a rapidly moving sluice which is a feeder for the Union Canal running from central Edinburgh to the Falkirk Wheel.
Further along our walk a flight of steps (built for giants rather than someone of my short stature) led upwards from our path to the level of the canal just where it crosses the Almond Valley. Just as we arrived at canal level a narrow boat came round the corner and crossed the Almond valley via the Lin’s Aqueduct giving me my blip for today.
