Leamington Lift Bridge
A nice start to the day. A lovely daunder around the park. No coat, a second chance of summer. More coats washed today. We will give these to a Winter Coat Exchange, giving old winter coats to people who cannot afford to buy a winter coat. It was very well used in 2023, so I am hoping it operates this year.
A bit of rain after lunch, not forecast. Looking at the weather radar, we are on the western fringe of rain. So partner and I get a bus to the canal. This does involve walking through the rain. It is far enough west so that there are only a few spits and spots at the canal, and we walk along the canal path in to the centre of Edinburgh. Blip shows the Leamington Left Bridges. When a barge or boat wants to leave or enter the Lochrin basin, on the other side, the wooden deck is raised so vessels can pass through.
We have afternoon coffee at the Towpath Café, which is situated in a bike shop, followed by a quick look around the bike shop. Then to a couple of charity shops before heading home.
