Departure

I flew to Canberra today, for a short visit. A  Canberra friend died recently and tomorrow there is a memorial service.

We flew from Gold Coast airport, not our closest but it offers direct flights to Canberra. The prominent peak in the centre distance is Mt Warning, named by  Captain Cook in May 1770. He chose the name because the distinctively shaped mountain is a warning to seafarers of a dangerous reef off the coast.
