Now, as I see it......

Hercules

Unlike one or two other blippers (or their husbands), I can take procrastination to a whole new level.  My proverbs of choice are 'Always put off until tomorrow what you could have done today', 'Strike once the iron has gone cold', and 'A stitch in time saves nine, but who needs more than eight anyway?'.  We have an apple tree against the garage wall that is espaliered, and some time ago decided that we needed another post against the garage wall to extend the wires that it will grow along.  It's not an urgent job; it will take several years to grow along the wires as we prune it back hard to three buds on each branch every year.  I bought the post some time ago; not quite sure when, but I think it was the early part of last year.  A few weeks ago I decided I really must attach it, so I bought the thunderbolts and washers that I needed for the job.  Never one to rush things, I finally got around to fixing it to the wall today and although I say so myself, I did a pretty good job.  All that was needed was some hooks and wire to stretch across, and the apple tree can continue growing to its heart's content.

I went over to the hardware shop in Sheringham to get them and on the way got this shot of Hercules running round its train ready to go back to Holt.  And in an unprecedented move, I actually fixed the hooks and wire when I got back so the job is finished.  Rome wasn't built in a day; they had the right idea, those Romans.
