I was out for my morning walk again. I needed to buy the ingredients for tonight's dinner. It was an Italian slow cooker dish that I needed to get cooking before I started work. Ultimately, I didn't quite succeed and had to pop back in one of my coffee breaks to chop the final ingredients and set up the machine. On my way back, I saw this ladybird stencilled on the pavement. There is another one near the station. I haven't yet found out what they are for.
My morning was busy, but the afternoon had no meetings, allowing me to write up some work we needed to review tomorrow. Mum and Dad arrived on the train just before 4 pm. I met them at Raynes Park station and carried their case home. I got them a drink and some nibbles and then finished my work.
At 7pm, we started watching the Paralympic opening ceremony. I am not sure we quite appreciated all the French cultural references. Still, it was enjoyable, even if it didn't feel as energy-packed as I would hope an opening ceremony would. The slow cooker was ready by the time PY got home. It was suggested that we eat outside as it was warm. It was a good idea. The food turned out to be delicious. Sadly, it started to rain.
We came back to watch the conclusion of the opening ceremony. The Paralympic flame cauldron is very impressive.
