Wide open

I've noticed these California poppies several times as I've walked to school in the morning. They are shut up tight. So I wanted to walk this way on the way home today to catch them wide open. I love this flower and its cheerfulness.
We had a half day today and a long weekend ahead. I am feeling wiped out at the end of the week and I'm staying home tonight. I will see my brother tomorrow for his last day. He's having some Mom time tonight on his own.
