Day at a Time

Thank you for all your kind birthday wishes yesterday. I had a lovely day. Here is the result of my choice of activity. I'm fortunate to have more than one garden hut but the more you have the more cluttered they become. This one had a proper turn out yesterday and I have two big boxes of redundant plant pots to recycle. The pots and seeds trays which are staying were all washed before being put away. I'm amazed at my industriousness.

Also in view are containers of potting compost which will sit here till next spring to be reused for seedlings. Being in here will stop the compost from freezing and flooding. I pulled up a lot of feeble plants in the garden yesterday too.

Earlier in the month I put some of the children's garden toys on the local WhatsApp group. I kept the scooters, a small skateboard and the car which I can't bear to part with just yet. At a cost of under £1 per year it's been such a hit. It has plenty of life left in it and it'll go to some other child before long.

We had a good meal last night. The food was very enjoyable. But at the risk of sounding like a grumpy old woman I think I prefer a 'proper' meal which doesn't require a course by course description of all the ingredients. On the other hand Stirling is a gastronomic desert so it's pleasing to have somewhere a bit different to visit or recommend to visitors.

I'm having a zoom chat with two friends this morning then all my family will be here this afternoon for a party. A cake is being brought - the girls' mum kindly makes birthday cakes these days. The forecast is good and we'll be outside for the fun.
