The Champions
We’ve had a pretty interesting day.
Up at 6am to get to Penrith in time for Hugh’s rugby league grand final. They didn’t expect to win the semi final and were definitely underdogs today so it was very exciting when they won 12-10 in the dying minutes of the game. Hugh scored the first try and a game winning tackle with parents, siblings and both sets of grandparents looking on. Proud father and grandfather in extra.
We must look old. The entry fee was $10 but someone spotted us queuing up and hustled us through ahead of the others gratis! The same happened to Bec’s parents! I’m not sure whether to be pleased or offended.
It was a successful sporting week for the family as Elizabeth’s team won their netball grand final last Saturday.
After that we visited Wally in hospital and dropped my sewing machine off for a service (first in 40 years! I only use it for mending these days) with all locations within a few blocks of each other.
Then on to Sydney for a quick visit to the twins before dinner and show at Norths with Denise and Dennis. This time it was “Bocelli and Brightman”. Quite a contrast from the Beatles last time but again excellent. We are quite amazed by the quality of these club shows.
More culture tomorrow.
