Cailleach

A row of rowers, hopefully not having a row...

When I was very young, one of my favourite books, was Little Women.

I remember being very upset when Jo March (loosely based on the author, Louisa May Alcott), turned down a marriage proposal from Laurie (the next door neighbour).

Later, he proposed to Jo's sister Amy (clearly he was determined to get hitched to one of them!) whilst they were out rowing, by saying something along the lines of always wanting to pull together in the same boat. (As a 10yr old, I found that terribly romantic.)

Anyway, watching this lot paddling blissfully along, made me think of Laurie and Amy. Until one fell over, and toppled the rest like a set of dominoes......
