go, lassie, go
I wanted a walk up amongst the heather before it fades from it's lovely August purple, so I asked D to drive me over to Glenkiln so that I could walk home from there over Bishop Forest Hill. Here he is, setting off for home with Jess in the back seat. She was excited to go out in the car, even if I wasn't taking her on the walk (too many sheep - she doesn't chase them but farmers don't know that).
It was a beautifully sunny day with good views over the Cairn Valley (see extra) and I enjoyed my walk. Later on, I had a less enjoyable outing, trying to mow the front lawn. I had to leave a big patch undone as it was too wet; even with the part I managed to cut, I had to keep stopping every few hundred metres to unclog the mower. I might have to leave the rest until 2025 unless we have a long dry spell in September. Here's hoping :-)
