Day at a Time

Corncockle

Huge thanks to Miranda for hosting the wildflower challenge for the past months. I know it's finished for 2024, at least in the northern hemisphere, but I love the corncockles so here's one.

What a lovely day we had yesterday. It was a proper summer day and we were in the garden all the time. It was a really happy party - bit riotous at times but everyone went home about 7pm. The only spanner in the works is that my grandson had a few suspicious looking spots and this morning we had a message confirming that he's got chicken pox. Everyone else in the family has had it and Cameraman and I have both had the shingles vaccination so I'm not worried but I am vexed for him. He's only just started school and now he'll need to be off. How disruptive for him and his parents.

I know it depends on which measure or calendar you use but for me 1st September is the start of autumn. Summer never got a proper grip here this year though as I said yesterday was beautiful. Today - much more in keeping with the new season.

I'm continuing the clear out in the garden. There's still plenty to do but I feel I've made progress.
