On stony ground

It's been difficult to find plants that will survive in our garden - much of it is poor, stony soil over hardcore, and all of it is inhabited by an army of slugs and snails with voracious appetites! The website claimed that Mexican fleabane will survive on stony ground, and so it does. Most of the plants have survived the slugs too. I shall be buying more of it next year!

MrM took the van to the garage first thing; they're hopeful that the work will be complete by tomorrow evening.

Mid-morning I walked in to Holmfirth for a dental check-up - all OK, I'm pleased to report. Apparently the hygienist can't do a clean and polish unless she's given the all clear from the stroke consultant - one of the new medications could cause problems with bleeding. Oh joy!

While MrM was at a music session I had a relaxing evening choosing a few books to load on to my new Kindle, ready to take on holiday.
