Greater Spotted Woodpecker

Just look who came to our bird feeder just after 9.00 this morning! We used to see them on our peanut feeder but haven't seen one in the garden for years.

The puzzle is - this is a squirrel-and-big-bird-proof feeder, as demonstrated by a jackdaw earlier, who discovered that, when it alighted on the perch, the food mysteriously disappeared, whereas small birds are allowed to feed. What magic did the woody use to defeat the mechanism? I don't care, it was lovely to see.
