On Friday....

I came across a damaged mobile phone on the wall opposite where we live. The screen was shattered. I brought it home, took a pic, popped it on the local FB Spotted page. Within 20 mins someone sent me a message claiming it. He fortunately lived only 5 minutes up the road, ran down to collect it. Explained that he'd been cycling around the lanes, must have fallen out of his pocket as he went over one of the speed bumps. Very grateful to get it back. His parting words were "I must repay you for taking the time etc." To which I replied that there was'nt any need, I was just happy that it had been claimed.
Last evening the same gentleman arrived at the door with a handtied bouquet of 24 roses, & a card as a thank you. He explained that he'd taken the phone to a repair shop where they had managed to save all his data etc. so he was very relieved & happy.

Went to the allotment early picked runner & French beans, courgette, & Cavelo Nero for Alison. Runner beans for Jane & her mum.
Drove down to CK.
Gave Mum her breakfast, then walked Indie. Back at Mum's by 10am, dropped veggies off to Alison. Jane arrived at 10.20. My brother was coming to see Mum & give her lunch.
Jane & I went to Westpoint showground near Exeter to see the Festival of the Iberian Horse. A birthday present to ourselves, Jane's birthday was on the 29th August. We had time for a good chat comparing parental care, & carers etc. before switching off, enjoying a snack & each other's company. The matinee performance was'nt sold out, but it was a good choice for us. Beautiful horses, the riders impressive.
