Gas Street Basin.
Alighting from the train at New Street station this afternoon I decided to take a stroll around the city centre and enjoy the sunshine. I wandered along Broad Street and onto the towpath of the canal, heading towards the Gas Street Basin.
Once derelict and very run down & polluted, this section of canal has been much revamped over the last decade or so, although this pub, the James Brindley, seems to be a victim of the multitude of bars on Broad Street that churn out cheap shots and alcopops during "happy hours" that seem to last all evening, every evening.
Shame - its a fine building, slowly crumbling away . . . . . . .
