Fete day

We are so lucky to hit a sunny day again for our village fete.
We had a different format this year. We usually have marquees in the field which is lovely but a lot of hard work in getting everything set up. Feeling the strain of age and limited availability of volunteers we opted to relocate to the village hall this year.
It worked out well, with lots of folk coming along, a nice social gathering, and fun for the kids. I think the biggest thing missing was the children’s races which are always fun. Maybe next year - we will review and see if any new volunteers come forward to help in future.
The first prize plum and almond tart was delicious - I didn’t make it, just nabbed a slice.
