Observation
Mum and Dad spent today at Battersea Power Station, where they explored the new shopping development and relaxed on deckchairs while watching the Paralympics. PY had suggested that a boat ride was a nice way to approach the area, so they took a train to Waterloo and then boarded a Thames Clipper from Embankment.
They eventually got back at 7 pm, having enjoyed a good afternoon on the river. Meanwhile, it took me another hour to prepare the vegetables and salmon for dinner.
After my early calls, I put Test Match Special on and, again, it was nice company throughout the day.
While waiting for them, we walked to Wimbledon Chase to get closer to our exercise goals. One of the shop units on Kingston Road is undergoing a makeover. During this evening’s walk, I noticed some lovely green tiles. Somewhere this week, I’d read about being more observant, and I’m not sure if these tiles have always been visible on all the other walks I’ve done here. I vowed to be more attentive.
Twenty minutes later, after a quick stop at the Co-op, I was collecting our train tickets for the coming weekend. When I booked them, I realised I had forgotten to add two senior railcards to the order, so I ended up paying full price for one ticket. There's another lesson in being more observant.
