What could this be?

The extra might give more of a clue.
If it's still a mystery then I'll come clean.
It is just the close up of a rather old spoon. The circular scratches can hardly be seen by just glancing and maybe the strong light and direction was making the circles stand out. It could also be the many years of twirling spaghetti! 
Reminds me of the start of the Bond films, just missing 007 in the middle.
