Transubstantiation
On This Day In History
1914: Pope Benedict XV named to papacy
Quote Of The Day
"You must proagate veneration of the Most Blessed Sacrament with all your might, for the devotion to the Holy Eucharist is the queen of all devotions."
(Pope Benedict XV)
Apparently, when Jesus turned the water into wine in Cana, that miracle of transusbstantiation was not so great as the miracle performed during the Holy Eucharist. That is because when Jesus turned the water into wine in Cana, the water lost its quality of water-ness and took on the qualities of wine-ness. When the wine and the wafer are transubstantiated into blood and flesh of Christ during the Holy Eucharist, they do so while still retaining the qualities of wine-ness and wafer-ness.
