Sam’s Away Day

Sam’s Day Out
I had promised to take Sam to World Goddess Day at St Nectans Glen, the Glen sits on the North Cornwall Coast between Tintagel and Boscastle, I wasn’t really sure what to expect.
We arrived around 9:45 and after parking Sam, Paddy and I set off upwards towards the Glen.
It’s around a mile rising around 250 metres over uneven ground that has had some steps and walkways built in but towards the end I found it hard going and was glad of the assistance Paddy gave by pulling on his lead.

Considered by some a sacred site at Saint Nectan’s Glen the river Trevillet has carved its way through Devonian slate to create a magnificent 60 foot waterfall and punched a hole through the original kieve (basin). The water now cascades through the beautiful valley. The views are amazing and it is all to easy to see what draws people.
Sam was to stay the whole day, Paddy and I were to head off for a separate adventure, (tomorrow’s Blip), before rejoining for one last stop, (Tuesdays Blip).
I found myself lingering but eventually set off back to the car and continued north east.

Having done ‘our thing’ Paddy and I returned to collect Sam. We arrived back early enough to climb back up to the Glen and then down to the pool and waterfall to watch the closing ceremony.

Hugely enjoyable.
