Around the Bend
Is it Round the Bend, or Around the Bend? It seems I've had a few of these grammatical conversations with folks recently. Whatever it is, I've felt a bit (a)round the bend this last couple of days for various reasons. Talking with a neighbour, she suggested it was a change of season thing that unsettles us, certainly the weather has been awful. However, today it developed into bright sunshine so, whilst Tony was off supermarket shopping, I took a walk to the garden centre for a card for Euan (who starts school sort of this week, but definitely next Monday) and sat in the sunshine in the park writing it. When I arrived at the Post Office it looked like an entire class from the Primary School were squeezing in there. I wonder if Rekha was going to give them a talk about working in the Post Office? The couple of grown ups who had arrived to do various PO things seemed quite happy to wait, well done them.
Card having been posted I returned home for a quick workout and my mid morning coffee and puzzles. Then it was washing on the line and just about time for lunch.
This afternoon the lovely day continued so I thought I would walk up to the woodland at the end of the street and see if I could capture the light. There were neighbours out to exchange news with and a chap picking the vast amounts of blackberries alongside the lane. My blip is of the bend that takes the lane up to the old farm, but this is also a good short circular walk.
I've been more diligent with my recorder practice the last couple of weeks so hopefully should be in reasonable shape for tomorrow's lesson, so now there's just a hobble with Rickie to do in half an hour's time.
