FC Cincinnati
Saturday
Laura and Liam arrived safely last night for the holiday weekend. This morning we all went hiking at Rowe Woods. The temperature was a few degrees cooler than it has been, but hotter than I thought it was going to be, and just as humid, so it was a rather tiring and sweaty walk! There was a chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon, and we were pretty tired after our morning’s activity, so we stayed in and played games -Liam and Laura are great board game enthusiasts, and had brought several with them, so they taught us a new one. I cooked us an early dinner before going downtown for the FC Cincinnati (English) football game against Montreal at the TQL stadium. R and I had been to one FC Cincinnati game before, years ago when they were playing at Nippert stadium, the Unniversity of Cincinnati stadium. They have gone up in the world of American soccer since then, and had a new stadium built which opened in 2021. We have passed the new stadium many times, since it is near to Music Hall which we attend regularly, but this was our first time to go to a game. It was a great evening, warm and sunny to start with, and remaining warm, even after the sun set. It was a great atmosphere, and Cincinnati won 4-1.
