A face at the window…..
……..when I drew back the curtains after coming down to make a drink before breakfast. He’s been knocking around for awhile this (what passes for) Summer.
But this morning came to the window, where usually he runs off as soon as anyone is outside in the garden.
He has a collar but I cannot see a name.
Obviously well fed.
It is chilly and damp after rain overnight and I know he is outside all night as the trail camera has picked him up before now.
It must be the autumnal change.
At the moment he is wandering round our back lounge. I’ve left the back door from the kitchen open but closed all other internal doors, except the one from this one into to the kitchen.
We have had 5 cats down the years.
This one was so desperate for food I gave him two mashed sardines. He just wolfed them down in a bowl I put by the back door in the kitchen.
He has now just gone out again, so it is time to close the door!
It is busy on the bird feeders as I write this. The cats can’t reach them and there are shrubs and bushes nearby for them to quickly disappear if needed.
After all this excitement I’m going to have some breakfast. Stephen came down a few minutes ago to see an empty dish in the kitchen and the cat.
“I’m sorry, “ I said, “I couldn’t resist giving him something to eat, only it was the last of your pilchards from the fridge”
Eyebrows raised!
Then he laughed.
You are “St Francis of Assisi” he said.
Just as the noisy shebbies descended to the fat balls once more!
