Assessment into Egypt
A pretty full on day with an online assessment into Egypt from 9 to 4. Technical problems caused some stress for everyone at the start and we started half an hour late - the teacher who I was about to observe was remarkably calm, considering. I woke up to the news that a course participant was now in danger of failing the course and so the tutors were having to follow the Cambridge procedure for that and I’d have to inspect that additional portfolio - we need to look through all possible fail portfolios. Another course participant was involved in a road accident in the morning (kept overnight but is now ok) and was in hospital - problematic as she hasn’t finished her teaching practice hours and Cambridge is very strict on those having to be completed. The course finishes this week and unless Cambridge approve her getting the award, she’ll have to return and finish her last hour on the centre’s next course as she can’t be observed teaching a class of students who are paying for normal classes. The colleague who accompanied her to hospital was meant to be teaching today (Tuesday) so their lesson had to be switched to tomorrow - luckily there was an empty teaching slot. We’d normally have the grading meeting and feedback to the centre meeting on the same day, but the suggested time of 8.30pm was just too late for me, so it’s postponed till Wednesday. Better for everyone I think!
Bb and I shared a salad and one portion of roast chicken and chips at a local place and still brought away enough chicken for a lunchtime sandwich on Wednesday! My blip is inside the place.
We had rain today, not a huge amount, but at least some, and storms forecast for Wednesday.
