Sgwarnog: In the Field

Darter

It turned into quite a sunny day, so when I got out for my lunchtime walk there was quite a bit of life in the meadows, including the audible hum of bees topping up their reserves of nectar from the Devil’s-bit scabious.

Alongside the Peacock, Speckled Wood and Comma butterflies were quite a few dragonflies, of which this Common Darter was  the one that I managed to catch up with for a photo.

Which reminds me that I have missed the peak for the blackberries and apart from snacking on them while out on walks, I didn’t get out to gather any this year.
