Dry Hollow, Early September
With quite cool temperatures overnight and a chilly morning, my husband and I decided to head over to the former Dry Hollow property for some exercise. He was jogging the main trail. I was walking with my camera and tunes box, wearing a long-sleeve top, long pants, and bug spray.
I am here to report that the cooler temps have NOT dissuaded the mosquitoes, who are fast, thirsty, and mean! Any time I slowed down to even TRY to take a picture, they were on me. I only took 16 total pictures the whole time I was there. 16!!!!! Eventually, I gave up on photos, and sort of sprinted back down the trail.
A word to the wise: it may seem like a taste of fall, but the bugs are still out there! My soundtrack song is Pat Benatar, with You Better Run.
