Ghost Town
Once home to hundreds of villagers, Ma Wan village is now a ghost town. Unlike most of Hong Kong's rural abandoned corners, the residents here were evicted by the government in 2011 - some of them unwillingly.
This tiny island is now mostly home to a huge gated housing estate and an amusement park. It doesn't feel like an island at all. The village culture has been taken away. This ghost town is the only place that has a 'character'.
I hope Hong Kong won't turn into a characterless place of residential ares, shopping malls and Disney lands. Like the rest of China is doing...
