Hadrian's Wall

Today was a day seeing Hadrian's Wall and a couple of its forts. We started at Banks Turret, then visited Birdoswald Roman Fort and walked a section of the Wall from Birdoswald to Gilsland. We then drove to a section of the Wall at Walltown Crags where this blip was taken. After a break for lunch we walked from Steel Rig to Sycamore Gap (and the very sad stump of the felled tree - there are some shoots coming up from the stump though). We walked back to Steel Rig, drove to Housesteads Fort and had a look round the fort. We certainly managed to see a lot in a day!
