Deveron river
Heavy rain first thing, then it dried up. Walked past Forglen Hall to the Deveron; met the ghillie and his two labradors, the young one wanted fuss and attention. Walked on downstream on the nicely mowed path for the fishers. The path comes to an end at the estate boundary, so turned up through the wood to the road that's parallel to the river.
That sounds easy; first there were waist high wet weeds and grasses at the field boundary. Much more difficult was that I'd forgotten that wood still hasn't been cleared from the storms two+ years back; found myself in among fallen birches and pines, having avoided the tallest sections. They were closely enough entangled that it took about 30 minutes to get the last 10m to the road, climbing on the downed trees, going carefully.
Got out eventually; having gloves made a big difference. Found some brambles on the south facing bank.
Walked back by Hillhead of Mountblairy; swallows about. Sun came out to dry my muddy trousers.
