Handcrafted Woodcarving

Hey guys, this one was not made in Zambia like all the others that R snr bought there!!! Hahahaha

My dear aunt Henna made this by hand! She has a vast variety of woodcarvings in her house, I will publish more of them on flickr tomorrow!

She was 61 years of age when she started attending woodcarving classes and I can assure you, the results are super excellent!

This one is a clock, carved out of silky oak wood and is in the Rococo style. She made them by hand, carving and chiselling and sanding for weeks on end, it is such a fine art and very labour intensive! She is 78 years of age now and is still very actively producing her works of art!
