We're in for a few
hot and sunny days - summer
hasn't finished yet

I was on my way to Tranquille at 6 AM. It's a hazy morning and I couldn't wait for the sun to show up. I drove off along the road that winds under my hillside in hopes of finding some big horn sheep. Nada!

Tranquille Farm and the wetlands pond were barely visible in the haze. I was surprised to find a flock of pelicans churning up the pond. They feed as a unit, moving ahead dipping their bills in rotation. They stay close together on the water as they move along. They must be working their way south after a summer up north.

The osprey nest had two in residence. There was a lot of talking and they seemed to be eating. I think they must be the two young ones.

I looked across the wetlands towards the river in the south. Lots of birds were making noise. No heron to be found today.

I drove back along the edge of the airport and got the morning sun just over the ridge.

I made a stop for groceries and to pick up my breakfast. I was expecting Trevor at the front door by 8 so I didn't want to keep him waiting. The flooring install continues.

I have an appointment across town this afternoon, but I plan to be in a relaxed mode otherwise.
