Morning coffee

A dull, humid day.  Not as hot on our morning dog walk.

Met bestie, Anna for coffee in town.  We went to Michaelhouse a former chapel.  When we arrived baby Douglas and Allegra were being led out by their mother.  

Michaelhouse was pretty quiet on our arrival but mums and toddlers appeared as we left at noon.

Had a great catch-up.  Have Anna her birthday present a book and some quality chocolate.  We agreed to only do Christmas cards but gifts at birthdays.  The birthday gifts have always included good chocolate and a book and/or earrings.  I wish my brother's wife could get this message but however hard I try I cannot get through.  Thankfully there are several counties separation.

A bit more sorting.  A socket in the kitchen has sparked and an under-cabinet light tube has stopped working and it's only a few months old.  I have a feeling there is some dodgy wiring.

When we had a new kitchen installed over 20 years' ago a new washing machine indicated another error.  The socket for the washing machine is at the bottom of a cupboard under the counter.   Just above the socket is the water outflow pipe.  Thankfully we had no leaks.  But what possessed the electrician to fit the socket at the back of the cupboard and below the outflow pipe instead of above the counter.  

We don't seem to have had much luck with renovations to this house.  Our loft conversion was plagued with roof leaks the sources emanating from opposite parts of the roof and travelling across to drip down walls.  Eventually we had the roof tiles replaced which stopped the leaks.

Shattered today.
