Convent do Carmo
So we are taking a short break in Lisbon. From what we've seen on our first day, it's a wonderful place. We did the 28 Tram route, a funicular ride, a visit to the Convent do Carmo and a walk down to the beach.
The main blip is the Covent, also called the church with no roof. It is a ruined Gothic church destroyed by an earthquake in 1755, with an evocative roofless nave. It also has an Archeological museum. It was a lovely cool place to sit and reflect.
The extras are the tram and funicular.
